LocHal open to a limited extent during hard lockdown

During the nationwide lockdown that lasts till January 14, 2022, the LocHal will be open (limited). We remain freely accessible to anyone who wants to borrow or return books and to anyone who wants to come and study, work or read. You can also come to us for one-on-one help with digital matters, such as making an appointment for a booster shot. Due to the coronation measures, there are no group activities in the LocHal at the moment and the StadsCafé is only open for pickup.

Libraries remain open during the day on a limited basis, as they fall under essential services. A place for meetings, workshops and debate we unfortunately cannot be for a while now, due to the measures against the coronavirus. But even in this period you can 'just' come to us for much-needed information and inspiration.

Basic rules for a library visit

The LocHal is freely accessible to everyone. You do not need a corona access card or QR code to visit us. The Library is designed to be a safe and pleasant place for visitors and employees. Therefore, we would like to ask your full attention to these three important rules:

  • Do not come to the Library if you have a cold or flu symptoms.
  • Keep 1.5 meters distance: protect yourself and others.
  • For visitors of 13 years or older, wearing a mouth mask is mandatory -when moving around, but also when you are standing or seated.

Help with government affairs

Do you have a question about applying for a DigiD or about making an appointment for the booster shot? Or about other matters you need to arrange digitally - taxes, benefits, pension or renewing your driver's license?

Then you can also visit the Digital Government Information Point in the library. Our specially trained librarians will be happy to help you on your way, offer advice or refer you to the right organization. Just walk in, or drop by during the special consultation hours.

Activities and courses: only online

Apart from the consultation hours there will be no activities or courses in the LocHal until January 14th. Of course you can use our online services. As a library member you can make use of our online collection 24/7, including e-books, audio books and magazines. There are also online activities and courses.

The exhibition spaces in the LocHal are open as usual. We kindly ask you to keep 1,5 meters distance and wear a mouth mask.

Working or studying remains possible

During the day you can use some of our work and study spaces; due to the one-half meter rule, the number of available places is limited. Advance booking is not necessary in most cases. Only a study booth or workstation with computer needs to be reserved in advance.
